A QUICK UPDATE
July 22, 2014

Hi dear readers. I'm sorry for not posting that much content this and last week. Also, if you are  a ''Q&A'' reader, you probably noticed that this post was missing yesterday. Reasons: Sickness (almost better now ;-)) and I started to build my own website (finally!!)(actually, I hired a company to do that) ;) I can't wait to show it to you guys. It will be something new and fresh, including beauty, fashion and trends and more informative posts similar to ''Q&A''. And of course!! Lots of new illustrations ;) I hope to show it to you soon! It will take a couple of weeks. Hang in there and keep an eye out :)

Q&A: WHAT TOOLS DO YOU USE FOR YOUR DRAWINGS?
When I just started out, I made this portrait of fashionblogger Andy (Style Scrapbook). I was so honoured when she actually used it as her profile picture for a long time :)

A short Q&A for today. I received this question A LOT from you guys. Time to answer it I guess ;)

I will not describe this in to much details as I don’t want my work to be copied. I hope you understand. Of course I want to share with you the tools I use, but not my exact technique. Also, it took me a while to figure out how to make my illustrations look presentable. It took me some time and effort, and I’ll let you so the same :) I think it’s very important to find your own style (as you could read in my previous posts I still have a hard time finding mine!!). So I would love to share with you my tools, but after that you’re on your own ;)

So, one technique or tool I can’t live without is definitely Photoshop. Why? Because it gives your drawing that ‘’oomph’’ factor (I think). I love to scan my work, then draw some more in Photoshop and clean my work and make it look ‘’crisp and fresh’’.

I also use Photoshop to finalize my work or I just draw a complete drawing in Photoshop. But when it’s ‘’mixed’’ (read: using pencil/ink/other drawing tools and Photoshop: Mixed Media) I like to use the following tools: Pencil (I use 2B,3B, all possible pencils out there), ink, watercolour, paint. After that I like to cut and paste the drawing in Photoshop. Mix it up a little and voilà!

If you aren’t familiar with Photoshop, you can find many tutorials on the internet on how to use Photoshop.

So, that was the Q&A for this week. I hope you guys understand that I’m not showing you step by step how I make my drawings. I would like to keep that private and I hope you guys will respect that.

You can still send your questions to judith_vdhoek@hotmail.com
